Umm Ayman’s (ra) Weeping

  • Abu Bakr and ‘Umar radiyallahu ‘anhumaa used to visit her after the demise of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. On one occasion she started crying. When they asked her the reason for it, she said that it was not because of the loss of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, but because the Revelation from Allah ta’ala was now cut off. They then cried with her.

Mus’ab’s (ra) Death

  • Mus’ab radiyallahu ‘anh was the flagbearer in Badr and Uhud .

  • At Uhud, his right hand was cut off, so he held the flag in his left hand. His left hand was cut off and he held it in the stumps of his hands.

  • He fell down reciting the ayah, “Wa maa Muhammadun illaa Rasool… – Muhammad is not but a messenger…” (3: 144) The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam recited over him, “Minal mu’mineena rijaalun sadaqoo maa ‘aahadullaha ‘alaih… – Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah…” (33 :23)

  • His shroud couldn’t cover his body properly. His legs were thus covered with leaves.

  • Mus’ab radiyallahu ‘anh sacrificed everything. Yet we can’t even sacrifice to make salah. The adhan goes off and we drive past in our luxury cars.  The adhan goes off and we sleep in our luxury beds.
