Why’s There No Tabsheer?

  • Why is there no tabsheer? Why all the tanfeer, all the takfeer?

Why Can’t It Happen To Us?

  • Allah ta’ala took ‘Umar radiyallahu ‘anh from the gutters and made him one of the best. Who’s to say it can’t happen to us?

If Not For Them…

  • If it were not for the Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum we would have felt it impossible to reach the level of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.

  • They did everything to keep their connection with Allah ta’ala. We need this illumination to bring this ‘izzah back into our lives.

  • Du’aat need to be a reflection of the character of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and the Sahabah radiyallahu  ‘anhum, so that when people look at us they are reminded of Allah ta’ala.

Zaid (ra)

  • Zaid bin Harithah radiyallahu ‘anh recognised that it was better to live as a slave with the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam than to live as a free man in another country.

  • The Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum lived very real lives: Zaid radiyallahu ‘anh’s marriage to Zainab radiyallahu ‘anhaa didn’t work out.

  • Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam developed Zaid radiyallahu ‘anh. If we see potential in youth, we must groom them.

Emulating the Sahabah (ra)

  • Are we attaining greatness? We must measure up against the Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum.

  • Emulation is part of the perfection.

  • The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam illuminated the lives of Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum so that we could gain illumination from their illumination.

She Wrapped Him In Her Love

  • After receiving the revelation, Khadijah radiyallahu ‘anhaa was the first to console the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.  He came to her and said, “Zammiloonee, zammiloonee – Cover me, cover me.” She didn’t just wrap him in a blanket: she wrapped him in her love.

  •  Who did this? His wife. He was for her not an ‘alim, not a Prophet but her husband. (We live lives that are so detached from our wives.)

  • Allah ta’ala was with him by blessing him with her as a wife.

Khadijah’s (ra) Support of the Prophet (saw)

  • Many notables had proposed to Khadijah radiyallahu ‘anhaa but she turned them down. She had foresight: she saw the potential in the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and proposed to him. (When people meet, it’s for a reason, for a plan.)

  • She had a tremendous impact on the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam. She took him from poverty to wealth and supported the da’wah with her wealth. Despite her wealth she was never arrogant. (People have the potential to be dignified if we strive for the Din.)

  • She stood by him during the siege. (Women’s efforts play a major role in supporting the Din of Allah.)

  • The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam was married to her alone for 25 years. He raised four daughters with her in a culture that did not accept it.
