Compassion Towards Usamah (ra)

  • Usamah radiyallahu ‘anh’s mother was Umm Ayman, a black woman. He once fell down and started bleeding. The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam told ‘A’ishah radiyallahu ‘anhaa to tend him but she didn’t know how to react. So the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam himself sucked out the blood and spat it out.

All three names have the root meaning of beauty.

  • Hasan radiyallahu ‘anh was born in the year 3 A.H. in the month of Ramadan. The Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam was given glad tidings of his birth. Hasan radiyallahu ‘anh resembled the  Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam the most.

Requesting Mahr Fatimi

  • People nowadays sometimes want mahr fatimi as their mahr. Currently this is about R7 000.00. However, at the time of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, it was actually a very small amount. The context of the hadith indicates this.

  • The kibaar of the Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum had such awe and reverence for the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam that they couldn’t even look at him directly. It was only the younger Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum who did this, and they are the ones who narrated the appearance of the Prophet sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
